Maybe this sounds familiar: you’ve broken a tooth and need a dental crown to fix it. You’re excited to restore the appearance and health of your tooth — but then, your dentist informs you it will take weeks to get your restoration.
Well, that’s not the case at Crowns Now.
We’re among the few dentist offices qualified to create beautiful dental crowns in just one day using our in-house CEREC milling machine! Only about 14 percent of dentists are trained to use this state-of-the-art technology.
Plus, our office is able to offer the highest quality dental restorations for the best value in Neenah, WI by focusing solely on dental restorations and fully leveraging the power of recent advances in digital dentistry!
Our Careful Planning Saves You Time And Money!
There are a variety of reasons you might come to us for a dental crown, which is a single-tooth prosthetic. A dental crown acts as a cap to completely cover any dental damage or imperfections. This restores the health, function, and appearance of the tooth.
Dental crowns are commonly used to:
- Cover and support a tooth that has a large filling
- Repair a broken or fractured tooth
- Protect a weak tooth
- Correct a misshapen or discolored tooth
- Affix to a dental implant to replace a missing tooth
When you come to Crowns Now for your dental restoration, we’ll spend some time talking with you about your needs and taking digital images of the tooth for which we’ll be creating a crown. Our Galileos digital imaging system gives us highly detailed images of your mouth with less radiation than traditional X-rays.
Precision in the planning stage equates to a more cost-effective treatment, and we’re proud to pass those savings on to you!
Preparing Your Tooth For The Dental Crown
At other dentist offices, placing a dental crown requires two visits: one where the tooth is prepared and another — usually two or three weeks later — where the permanent dental crown is placed. Usually, you have to get a temporary crown placed while the permanent restoration is being made.
But Crowns Now is different! We’ll both prepare the tooth and place the dental crown in the same visit.
Before any work begins, we’ll numb the tooth and gum tissue surrounding it to ensure your comfort. We also offer a mild form of dental sedation if you want to experience even less discomfort and stress.
Then, we’ll carefully reshape the tooth that will be receiving the crown to ensure there’s plenty of room for the dental crown. It’s at this point that we’ll take some digital images that produce a 3D model of the tooth. This helps us determine what your dental crown will look like and ensure a perfect fit.
And then, the magic happens: We make your dental crown!
Making The Dental Crown
At Crowns Now, we’ve invested in technology that allows us to make your dental crown in-house, instead of sending the images away to a lab for manufacturing.
Once we’re happy with the digital design for your dental crown, we’ll send the blueprint to our CEREC milling machine, which will carve your dental crown from a block of ceramic. This takes about 15 minutes. Once it’s done, we’ll check to make sure the dental crown fits your tooth and make adjustments if necessary.
When the dental crown fits your tooth perfectly, we’ll apply a glaze and allow the restoration to harden in a special oven. At this stage, which takes another 15 minutes or so, the dental crown will take on the appearance and strength of a natural tooth.
Finally, your dental crown is ready to place! We’ll cement it into place and do one last check of fit and placement. Then, you’ll walk out of our office with a beautifully restored tooth!
Why Ceramic Is The Way To Go
Dental crowns can be made out of a variety of materials. You’ve probably seen a metal crown at one time or another. These restorations are great in terms of strength and durability, but they can be unsightly and distract from a beautiful smile.
At Crowns Now, we’re proud to offer all-ceramic dental crowns. This gives you a durable restoration that looks like your natural tooth!
