What Is A Dental Bridge?
An all-ceramic dental bridge from Crowns Now is a cost-effective and discreet way to fill in a gap in your smile. A dental bridge can literally “bridge” the gap created by just one tooth, or it can correct the gap created by a series of missing teeth.
A dental bridge consists of two crowns — which completely “cap” the visible portion of teeth — which are placed on the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth or teeth. These two teeth with the dental crowns are called “abutment teeth.” They support a false tooth or a series of false teeth to fill in what’s missing.
What Are The Benefits Of A Dental Bridge?
You may have noticed that missing teeth make it challenging and even uncomfortable to chew or speak. Replacing those missing teeth ensures that the force of your bite is properly distributed, so you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite foods once again.
What’s more, missing teeth can affect the alignment of your other teeth and your bite. It can even eventually affect the shape of your face. Filling in the gaps prevents these changes.
Of course, missing teeth can also take a toll on your confidence. If you’re embarrassed to smile, a dental bridge is a great way to reclaim your smile and your self-esteem.
What Is The Process Of Getting A Dental Bridge?
When you come to Crowns Now for a dental bridge, you can feel comfortable knowing that thorough planning aided by the latest technology is guiding your treatment!
First, we’ll carefully reshape the abutment teeth so they’ll be able to accommodate the dental crowns to which false teeth will be attached. We’ll numb the affected area before we begin to ensure your comfort. We also offer a mild form of dental sedation if you want to further minimize pain and stress!
Then, we’ll take a series of digital images to guide the creation and placement of your dental bridge.
Our 3D cone beam CT scanner and our Galileos digital imaging system (which only 5 percent of all dentists are trained to use) will give us a comprehensive and highly detailed view of your mouth. This technology will help us generate a digital version of your dental bridge. Once we’re happy with the blueprint, we’ll send it to our CEREC milling machine, which will carve your dental restoration from a block of ceramic.
This incredible technology allows us to create and place your dental bridge in just once visit!
Since only 14 percent of dentists have a CEREC milling machine, most practices don’t have the capability to make custom dental restorations in-house. They have to send the images to a lab that then manufactures the dental bridge. It can take weeks for your dentist to receive the finished product. But that’s not the case at Crowns Now!
Once your dental bridge is created, we’ll make sure the fit is flawless, make adjustments if necessary, and then cement it into place. You’ll be able to walk out of your appointment with a beautiful, gap-free smile!
Are There Other Ways To Replace Missing Teeth?
Yes! Another teeth replacement method that has been gaining traction is dental implants.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. It’s attached to a custom abutment, which securely holds in place an all-ceramic dental crown or other restoration. In time, the dental implant fuses to your jawbone — just like a real tooth — which ensures security and durability.
At Crowns Now, we’re proud to offer same-day implants! We actually have “Implant Evenings” Monday through Thursday at our office. You can come in after work, get your dental implant, and then be able to return to work the next day!
